From this point forward, double-clicking the midi track will now always bring it up in the docked midi editor - not in a new window as it did before.
BUT - if I right-click the track NAME in the edit window and scroll down the context menu and select "open in midi editor" the midi editor \always** opens up in the bottom of the Edit window. It too appears to default to the last type of midi edit window used. It appears to default to the last type of midi edit window you used. If I close that separate midi window and double-click a midi track, the midi track opens a new undocked midi edit window. If I press the keyboard shortcut ctrl-=. I want the midi editor to *always* appear in a separate window - NOT docked with the Edit window. Am I doing something wrong? Protools 2018.12, MacOS.
